Following graduating from the University of Warwick, Rachel started with National Grid as an engineering graduate trainee in 1992. During her career she have held a wide variety of operational engineering roles supporting the National Transmission Electricity Control room, starting as a regional planner, then national planner. Rachel then spent a period of time in the commercial area representing National Grid on the Grid Code panel and leading a number of industry working groups. During this time she also gained Chartered Engineer status. In March 2009 she became the Lead Manager for UK Inclusion and Diversity. Rachel then returned to engineering taking on the managerial position for the short term planning of the transmission system and then achieved authorisation as National Grid’s first female electricity control manager. Rachel’s most recent position is as the Executive Assistant to National Grid Executive Director, UK.
Cordi recently joined National Grid as Director of UK Market Operation. She is currently responsible for the real time operation of National Grid’s electricity and gas transmission networks in GB. This includes forward energy trading and balancing services, operational forecasting, and leading the development of future energy supply and demand scenarios that take an holistic view of UK energy.
Prior to joining National Grid, Cordi spent 16 years at Centrica in a variety of commercial and operational roles, including Director of Trading, Head of Asset Optimisation, and Director of Origination. Cordi started her career in Yorkshire Electricity.
Cordi lives in Beaconsfield with her husband, Gavin, and two children (James and Charlotte).
Audrey joined National Grid in 1998 and has held a number of operational engineering roles supporting the Electricity National Control Centre, including transmission system outage planning and industry code development. Audrey is currently the Commercial Optimisation Manager at National Grid, which includes forward energy trading and balancing services, energy and margin forecasting and regulatory incentives development.
After graduating from Abertay University, and prior to joining National Grid, Audrey worked as an electrical patent searcher and analyst at Thomson Reuters.
